How to Find Latitude and Longitude in Google Maps
To find latitude and longitude coordinates:
- Go to Google Maps.
- Search for the location you need.
- Right-click directly on the location on the map.
- Click the coordinates shown at the top of the menu.
The coordinates are copied automatically to your clipboard.
Coordinates are copied in this format:
Latitude, Longitude
Example:
6.927079, 79.861244
In this example:
- Latitude: 6.927079
- Longitude: 79.861244
Important: Do not reverse latitude and longitude. If they are reversed, the map can show the wrong place.
Set Global Map Coordinates in WPRentals
Global map coordinates are used as the default map center for pages that use the global map header.
Go to:
WPRentals Options > Map Configuration > Map General Settings
Add the coordinates in:
- Starting Point Latitude
- Starting Point Longitude
Save the settings.
These coordinates apply mainly when the site uses the global map header from:
WPRentals Options > Header > Hero Media Header

Set Custom Page Map Coordinates
If a specific page uses its own custom map header, the global coordinates may not apply.
Edit the page and check the page header options.
Go to:
Pages > All Pages
Edit the page, then check the custom header settings for that page.
If the page header is set to use a map, add the latitude and longitude in the page header map options.
Use this when you want one page to start from a different map location than the global map.

Set Property Map Coordinates
Each listing needs its own latitude and longitude to show the correct pin on the map.
Edit the listing and check the location/map fields.
You can set the property pin by address, or you can copy the coordinates from Google Maps and paste them manually.
The property must have correct coordinates for the pin to show in the right location on:
- Single listing page map
- Advanced Search Results map
- Properties list map
- Half Map page
- WPRentals Map with Listings widget

Set Contact Page Map Coordinates
The Contact page map uses its own coordinates from the Contact Page Details settings.
Go to:
WPRentals Options > Social & Contact > Contact Page Details
Add the coordinates in:
- Company HQ Latitude
- Company HQ Longitude
The company address is shown as text. It does not replace the latitude and longitude fields.
If the Contact page map pin is in the wrong place, check these two coordinate fields first.

Pages That Use Listing Coordinates
Some pages do not use the global map center as the main reference.
Pages such as:
- Advanced Search Results
- Properties List
- Properties List Half Map
- Taxonomy/category listing pages
- Map with Listings widget
can use the coordinates from the listings shown on that page.
This means the map may center or adjust based on the property pins, not only the global starting latitude and longitude.
For the Properties List Half Map page, custom latitude, longitude, and zoom can be added in the page settings. If you want those custom values to apply, enable the option to bypass fit bounds, when available. If this option is not enabled, the map may adjust based on the visible property pins.

After Changing Coordinates
After changing map coordinates, listing locations, map provider, or pin settings, regenerate the map data.
Go to:
WPRentals Options > Map Configuration > Generate Data & Pins
Click Save Changes.
Then clear:
- Theme cache
- Cache plugin cache
- Server cache
- CDN cache, if used
- Browser cache
This helps refresh the map pins and map files used by the theme.
