As the site admin, you can decide if listings submitted from the front-end User Dashboard should be published automatically or reviewed manually before they appear on the website.
This applies to listings submitted from:
User Dashboard > My Listings > Add New Listing
The approval option is managed from:
Theme Options > Add Listing Page & Payment Settings > Submission Settings
Where to Manage Listing Approval
Go to:
Theme Options > Add Listing Page & Payment Settings > Submission Settings
Find the option that controls whether the admin must approve listings submitted from the front end.
Approve Listings Manually
Use manual approval if you want to review each new listing before it is published on the website.
When manual approval is enabled:
- new listings submitted from the front end are saved as Pending
- the listing is not visible on the public website until the admin publishes it
- the admin receives an email notification when a new listing is submitted
- the admin must review and publish the listing from wp-admin
How to Review and Publish Pending Listings
To review listings submitted from the front end, go to:
Wp-admin > Listings, Bookings & More > Properties
or:
Wp-admin > Properties
depending on your admin menu setup.
Listings waiting for approval will be saved with Pending status.
To publish a pending listing:
- Edit the pending listing.
- Review the listing details.
- Check if all mandatory fields are completed.
- Change the status from Pending to Published, or click Publish.
- Save the listing.
Approve Listings Automatically
Use automatic approval if you want submitted listings to be published without manual admin review.
To approve listings automatically, set the approval option to No.
When automatic approval is enabled:
- submitted listings can be published without manual admin review
- the exact publishing moment depends on your submission payment setup
- if listing payment is required, the listing is published after the required payment is confirmed
- if listing submission is free, no approval is required, and all mandatory fields are completed, the listing can be published after submission
How Mandatory Fields Affect Automatic Approval
Mandatory fields are managed separately from the approval setting.
Go to:
Theme Options > Add Listing Page & Payment Settings > Listing Submission Form
From this section, the admin can choose:
- which fields show in the front-end listing form
- which fields are mandatory
If a mandatory field is missing or not completed correctly, the listing may be saved as Pending, even when manual approval is disabled.
This means automatic approval does not ignore mandatory fields. A listing must still pass the required field checks before it can be published automatically.
Common checks:
- Go to Theme Options > Add Listing Page & Payment Settings > Listing Submission Form.
- Check Select the Fields for listing submission.
- Check Select what fields are mandatory.
- Make sure every mandatory field is also visible in the submission form.
- Do not make a hidden field mandatory.
- Edit the pending listing and complete the missing required fields.
- Publish the listing again.

How Approval Works With Paid Submission or Membership Submission
Listing approval is connected to your submission model.
WPRentals supports:
- Free submission – users can submit listings without payment.
- Paid submission – users pay for each listing submitted or published.
- Membership submission – users submit listings based on the membership package assigned to their account.
If payment is required for listing submission, the listing can depend on:
- the admin approval setting
- the payment confirmation status
- whether all mandatory fields are completed
For example:
- If manual approval is enabled, the listing remains pending until the admin publishes it.
- If automatic approval is enabled and payment is required, the listing is published after the payment is confirmed and the listing is complete.
- If automatic approval is enabled and no payment is required, the listing can be published after submission if all mandatory fields are completed.
- If mandatory fields are missing, the listing can remain pending even if automatic approval is enabled.
