Theme options – How to change theme default fonts

7965 views

The theme allows you to fully customize fonts for various elements (main text, headings, menu, paragraphs, etc.) using supported Google Fonts. You can configure these settings from: Theme Options → Design → Fonts

Available Font Options

For each text element (Main Font, H1–H6, Paragraph, Menu), you can set:

  • Font Family – Select from the supported Google Fonts list.

  • Font Weight & Style – Choose from available weights like Regular (400), Medium (500), Semi-Bold (600), Bold (700), Light (300), etc.

  • Font Subsets – Choose subsets such as Greek, Cyrillic, Vietnamese, etc., based on the font’s availability.

  • Font Size – Define the font size in pixels.

  • Line Height – Control vertical spacing between lines, also in pixels.

  • Font Color – Pick a custom color for your text (where applicable).

  • Text Alignment – Optional, for setting alignment (left, center, right).

If you wish to add a font that is not in the supported list, please see this help: https://help.wprentals.org/article/how-to-add-a-google-font/

How Theme Fonts Work with Elementor Fonts

When building your site with Elementor and using the WpRentals theme, it’s important to understand how Theme Options fonts and Elementor fonts interact:

Theme Fonts (Theme Options → Design → Fonts)

These settings apply to all global theme elements that are not edited directly in Elementor. This includes:

  • Header and footer text

  • Menu items

  • Property titles and descriptions (if not edited in Elementor)

  • Blog post typography

  • Widgets and theme shortcodes

Elementor Fonts (Inside Elementor Editor → Style Tab)

When editing a page or section with Elementor, you can override the theme fonts by selecting custom fonts in the Style tab of any widget or from Elementor Site Settings.

Elementor’s font settings take priority over the theme fonts for the content you edit directly in Elementor.

For example:

  • If you use an Elementor Heading Widget, and set the font to “Lato,” it will use Lato — even if your Theme Option H1 font is set to Cormorant.

  • If you do not assign a font in the Elementor widget, it will inherit the font from Theme Options.
