Currently, it is not possible to edit or modify booking dates once a guest has completed a booking.
This applies to both confirmed and pending bookings, regardless of whether payment was made as a deposit or in full.

The reason for this limitation is that WpRentals supports multiple pricing structures (such as custom prices, weekend rates, and discounts). Updating dates after a booking is created would affect invoices, totals, and payment records — which could lead to inconsistencies and incorrect calculations in the system.

What to do instead

If a guest needs to change their stay dates:

  • Cancel the original booking (as owner in owner dashboard – My Bookings).

  • Create a new booking manually with the corrected dates. Help to add manual bookings https://help.wprentals.org/article/adddelete-booked-periods-as-owner/
  • If any payment has already been made, you can manually note or adjust what was paid and what remains due. Payments are always possible to admin only and admin will see the invoices for bookings canceled by owner for any manual modifications.

  • If a booking is already confirmed but needs to be canceled, the owner can cancel it. The booking will be deleted from both the owner’s and the user’s dashboards.
  • Once an invoice is issued, it will appear in the Admin Dashboard. This helps the admin track any deposits that have been paid.

Tip

If you encounter this situation often, consider mentioning in your property policies that guests should contact the host directly for booking adjustments before making payment.

We understand this feature would be helpful, and our team is exploring ways to handle it safely in future updates. For now, this manual rebooking process ensures accurate invoices and prevents data issues.

If you’re seeing these messages after updating WordPress to version 6.7 and Elementor to version 3.26:

  • Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly.
  • Fatal Error: related to typography settings in Elementor and problems loading the Elementor widgets, as below examples

or

These issues happen because WordPress and Elementor updates have changed how things work, and the WpRentals theme and included plugins need to be updated to match.

How to Fix These Issues:

Temporarily Revert Elementor to an Older Version:

  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to Elementor > Tools > Version Control.
  • Choose a version before 3.26 and revert to it.

This will temporarily fix the error from Elementor:

Update the WpRentalsTheme and Its Plugins:

  • Back Up Your Website: Before making any changes, save a complete backup of your site, including all files and the database.
  • Update the Theme using the Envato Market Plugin. For detailed instructions, see How to Install WpRentals Theme & Included Plugins
      • Install the Envato Market Plugin.
      • Set up the plugin with your Envato API Personal Token.
      • In the ‘Themes’ section, update WpRentals to the latest version
  • Update the WpRentals Core Plugin & WpRentals Elementor Add-on:
      • After updating the theme, go to Appearance > Install Plugins.
      • Update the WpRentals Core Functionality plugin to the latest version.
      • Update WpRentals Elementor Add-on to the latest version
  • Update the Child Theme:
      • If you’re using a child theme with custom changes, make sure it’s updated to work with the latest wordpress 6.7 requirements for translation
      • wprentals-child.zip from the Theme Pack you download from Envato contains an updated functions.php that is needed for the latest WordPress version

Very Important is to clear All Caches:

  • Theme Cache from Admin Bar, if it is enabled.
  • Browser Cache: Clear your browser’s cache to make sure you’re seeing the latest version of your site.
  • Plugin Cache: If you use 3rd party caching plugins, clear their caches too.

Update Elementor to the Latest Version:

  • After updating the theme and plugins, update Elementor to version 3.26.

This order of updates ensures everything works together properly.

Following these steps should fix the notices and errors caused by the recent updates to WordPress and Elementor.

WpRentals is translation-ready and allows you to change any default theme text (like buttons, labels, messages, etc.) to your preferred wording using translation tools like Loco Translate (in the WordPress dashboard) or Poedit (on your computer).

CONTENT

Before reading this help file you may want to check this video. It explains theme functionality and may be easier to understand. Watch Video on Youtube

You can translate or rename any theme text using:

  • Loco Translate plugin (from wp-admin dashboard)

  • POEdit software (on your computer)

This also works if you’re changing English-to-English (e.g., “Zip” ➝ “Postcode”).

Check Your Site Language

Before using Loco Translate or Poedit, make sure your WordPress site is set to the correct language:

  1. Go to Settings > General in your WordPress dashboard.

  2. Find the Site Language option.

  3. Select your preferred language (e.g., English (United States), French, Spanish, etc.).

  4. Click Save Changes.

This setting ensures that WordPress loads the correct translation files for your theme.

Using Loco Translate (Recommended for most users)

Install and Activate Loco Translate

  • Go to Plugins > Add New in your WordPress dashboard.

  • Search for Loco Translate, install it, and activate the plugin.

Find the WpRentals Theme for Translation

  • Install the WpRentals Child theme first. Follow this help (so you don’t lose the theme custom translation when theme updates).
  • Go to Loco Translate > Themes.

  • Click on WpRentals Child Theme from the list.

  • Check the configuration settings for language match the screenshot below
    • Project name – WpRentals Child theme
    • Text domain – wprentals
    • File Prefix – wprentals
    • Template file – languages/wprentals.pot
    • Domain path  – languages
    • Source file paths – blank

Create or Edit Your Language

  • If your language exists, click it (e.g., English (en_US)) -> Edit

  • If not, click New Language, select your language (e.g., English (United States)), and choose Author

Search and Modify Text Strings

  • Use the search box to find the text you want to change (e.g., “Book Now”).

  • Select the string and add your custom wording in the Translation field below.

Save Your Changes

  • Click the Save button to apply the changes.

  • The new wording will now appear on your website wherever that string is used.

Find the WpRentals Core Functionality plugin languages files

  • Go to Loco Translate – Plugins
  • Select WpRentals -Theme Core Functionality

  • Check the Template File in Loco Translate -> Advanced to match the below screenshot

Create or Edit Your Language

  • If your language exists, click it (e.g., English (en_US)) -> Edit

  • If not, click New Language, select your language (e.g., English (United States)), and choose Author

Backup plugin translation before you update the theme – https://help.wprentals.org/article/how-to-update-the-theme-and-plugins/

Search and Modify Text Strings

  • Use the search box to find the text you want to change (e.g., “Service Fee”).

  • Select the string and add your custom wording in the Translation field below.

Save Your Changes

  • Click the Save button to apply the changes.

  • The new wording will now appear on your website wherever that string is used.

Using Poedit (for developers or offline work)

  • Download and install POEditGet the free version.  You do not need Pro version
  • Download and Open wprentals.po from wprentals-child-po/languages   and   plugins/wprentals-core/languages

  • Set the language according to the language set in Admin-Settings-General

4. Start adding the translated words for each theme string.

d

  • After the translation is done, you need to SAVE and rename  both .po and .mo files with the proper name (for example de_DE.po). If the file name is not right the translation will not work. See this link for the proper name.

  • Upload the translated and renamed .po and . mo files in:
    • themes/wprentals-child-po/languages/  folder
    • plugins/wprentals-core/languages/ folder

You should have now wprentals.po, wprentals.mo + your new language po and mo.

What Text is Translated or Edited from Theme Options in WpRentals?

In WpRentals, not all property-related labels are handled through translation files. Several key elements must be edited or translated directly in the Theme Options panel, especially those related to listings.

Please check the sections below for guidance:

Property Details, Features, and Address Section Sections Titles

These labels are managed from the admin panel:

  • Go to Admin > Theme Options > Listing Page > Listing Page Text Labels

  • You can customize or translate the wording for section titles  (e.g., “Property Description”, “Property Price”)

🔗 Help link:
Listing Labels Documentation

 Property Features & Amenities

These are not translated via .po files. You must manually edit them:

  • Go to Admin > Listings > Features and Amenities

  • Here, you can add, remove, or rename features (e.g., “Air Conditioning”, “Swimming Pool”)

🔗 Help link:
List Features and Amenities

Custom Property Fields

Custom fields are also managed manually:

  • Navigate to Admin > Theme Options > General > Listing Custom Fields

  • You can define the label, type (text, dropdown, etc.), and values

  • These fields are used to capture extra property info (e.g., “Year Built”, “Pet Policy”)

🔗 Help link:
Custom Property Fields

NOTE: Default Property Fields Managed via .po/.mo Translation

Some core fields are not editable via Theme Options and must be translated via Loco Translate or Poedit instead. These include:

  • Address Fields

  • Bedrooms

  • Rooms

  • Bathrooms

  • Size

To change the wording of these, follow the steps in the Loco Translate guide.

Advanced Search

Some of the custom fields labels are set in Theme Options – Search tabs

This guide explains how to control header appearance and map visibility in various parts of your website, including global pages, taxonomy/search results, single property pages, and the submit form. These instructions are particularly useful for users who want to customize the layout and appearance of their theme beyond the default settings.

Pages, Post, Owners

You can control the global header (the header displayed on most pages) through the theme settings:

  • Navigate to Theme Options → Header → Hero Media Header  to set your preferred global header style.

Important Notes:

  • Properties pages are excluded.
  • Dashboard pages are excluded.
  • Half-map design does not support a custom header.

How to change the layout of the property category / taxonomy page to not have maps in header

  • Choose Standard layout Theme Options → General → List & Sidebar Appearance → Layout Type for Property Category/Taxonomy List Pages

Change the header to categories/taxonomies to something else than google maps

How to change the layout of the Advanced Search Results page to not have maps in header

  • Select Standard Layout in Theme Options > Search > Advanced Search Results Page.

Theme options Hero Media Header will apply for Hero Media header if you have “Global” set in Appearance Options.

Hero Media Header can be overwritten for specific pages from Edit Page → Header Options by switching the “global” option to one of the options from the dropdown. So you can set a different hero media just for the Search Results page.

Remove the map from the Single property page

You can keep sections Enabled or Disabled by Accessing the Listing Page Layout Manager

  • Navigate to WpRentals Options in your WordPress dashboard.
  • Click on Listing Page.
  • Open Listing Page Layout Manager.
  • Enabled Layout Manager (set to YES)

Hiding the Double Sections

By Default these sections will show 2 times when Listing Layout Manager is Enabled

  • Description
  • Owner
  • Map
  • Similar Listings

To hide a section:

  • Find the respective Hide Default [Section Name] Section? option.
  • Select Yes.
  • Click Save Changes and refresh your listing page to see the update.

OR

  • Locate the Property Page Layout Manager.
  • Drag and drop sections from Enabled to Disabled.
  • Click Save Changes.

How to remove the Map from Submission Form

You can manage what fields appear on the listing submission form by going to: Theme options -> Add Listing Page & Payment Settings -> Listing Submission Form

In WP Rentals, you can create dynamic property lists that users can filter by Categories, What do you rent, City, or Area. These lists can be built using taxonomy pages, page templates, or shortcodes. Below is a guide to help you set them up effectively.

Taxonomy Pages

Taxonomy pages are automatically generated pages in WP Rentals that group properties by specific categories or terms. These taxonomies include:

🔹 Category – e.g., apartment, villa, house
🔹 City – the location of the property
🔹 Type – e.g., for rent, for sale
🔹 Area – specific neighborhoods or regions within a city
🔹 Status – e.g., new, featured, sold
🔹 Features & Amenities – e.g., pool, garage, garden

Each taxonomy page lists all properties assigned to that specific term.

For example, if you have a “Manhattan” area, its taxonomy page will automatically display all properties located in Manhattan.

This page is automatically created and help users quickly browse properties grouped by their desired criteria.

Read more about Listings Categories / Taxonomies in this help – https://help.wprentals.org/article/property-custom-taxonomies-category-what-do-you-rent-city-and-neighborhoodarea/

Properties List Page Templates

You can create custom property lists with or without filters using special page templates.

Steps:
1⃣ Go to Admin → Pages → Add New.
2⃣ Select either the Properties List or Properties List Half Map template from the page attributes.
3⃣ Save the page.
4⃣ Scroll down to the Properties List Advanced Options section to configure filters (like categories, cities, areas, etc.).

If you’re experiencing issues with emails not being sent in your WpRentals site, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem. This guide covers common causes and solutions to ensure that your emails are sent correctly from your website.

Check Subject exists in Email Management

  • In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to WpRentals > Theme Options > Email Management.

  • Make sure the Subject and Content fields are filled out for the emails you are testing.
  • Test with specific actions that trigger emails (e.g., new user registration, password reset, etc.).

Check SPAM Folder

Emails can sometimes be marked as spam, depending on the email provider, the source of the email, and the sending server. To prevent this:

  • Email Address:
    • The theme sends emails automatically from [email protected].
    • Ask your hosting provider to register [email protected] as a valid email address with proper access credentials (username and password).
    • Alternatively, change the noreply address to a valid email address you know exists (e.g., [email protected]).
  • SPAM Filters:
    • This can help reduce the chances of emails being marked as spam. Ensure that the email sent from your website passes through your email provider’s spam filters.

Check Email Settings in WordPress

Test with WordPress Password Reset

  • Go to your site’s wp-admin URL.

  • Reset your password from WordPress and check the email you receive.
  • If no email is received, contact your hosting provider to activate the Mail Server on your hosting account.
  • If the email is received, check the email address used as the sender.

  • Most hosting providers use an address like [email protected], but it’s best to confirm the exact email address used.

Verify Email Sender from Theme Options matches Email Sender from WordPress password Reset

  • Access the Email Settings:
    • Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.
    • Navigate to WpRentals > Theme Options.
    • Under the Email Management tab, click on Email Settings.
  • Verify Email Sender:
    • Ensure that the “Emails will be sent from email” field is set to a valid email address.
    • If using a custom email, make sure it matches the one supported by your hosting service.
    • Important: Your email address should match the email address set up in your hosting account to prevent email delivery issues.

Test Email Delivery

Check Reports to Identify the Cause of Emails Not Being Sent

Install the Post SMTP Plugin

  • Install the Post SMTP plugin to log email sending activities. The plugin provides detailed reports for each email, showing why an email may not have been sent.
    • Install the plugin on your WordPress site.
    • After installation, trigger an email action (e.g., a new user registration, password reset).
    • Check the plugin’s logs to find any errors or reports indicating the cause of the email delivery issue.

Test with a General Email Address

  • Test the Email Delivery Send test emails using a general email address (e.g., Gmail). If you don’t receive the email, the issue could be related to the email server settings.
  • Check for MX Record Issues If the test email is not received, the problem may be related to your MX (Mail Exchange) records. Hosting providers can assist you with these settings, which are necessary for your server to send emails.

Verify Email Port Settings for Specific Hosting Providers (e.g., BlueHost) Some hosting providers, like BlueHost, require the outgoing email server port to be set from 465 to 587 for proper email sending.

  • You can configure this setting via the Post SMTP plugin.
  • Follow the setup wizard in the plugin and enter your hosting’s SMTP details.
  • Test the email sending with port 587.

Recommendations for Other Hosting Providers

  • HostGator Clients If using a custom email address other than [email protected] doesn’t work, try setting the General Settings Email Address to match your domain (e.g., [email protected]).
    • Use the POSTMAN plugin to configure SMTP with login authentication using the same email and password set in General Settings.
  • Cloud-Based Hosting Providers or other hostings that do not offer Mail Server. If your hosting does not support mail functionality (many cloud-based hosting providers do not offer this), consider using a third-party service like SendGrid, which offers 100 free emails per day: SendGrid Free Plan.
    • For cloud hosting without mail functionality, using SendGrid as an SMTP server can help resolve email delivery issues.
    • Follow this guide on how to integrate SendGrid with WordPress for more details.
